Rumah Prawestri is a simple house for small family of parents and 2 children, in Yogyakarta Special District area, This house is arranged by 2 activity programs, public area (1st floor ; living + guestroom + service), private area (2nd floor ; child room + library  + service)

 

This house is a reinterpretation and deformation of a typical “village house” (body = functional space and roof = scoping). The body element is filled with a public space + service program while the Roof Element is reprogrammed into a child + service space without altering the anecdotes of the roof function as a bun or crown for the identity of the house.

As is the case with a typical village house covered with wood and woven bamboo material. This house is dominated by wood material as a support material and friendly formers. The aesthetics of woven bamboo is transformed into a facade that also functions as skin and transistor of wind and heat.

 

Initial sketch above becomes the initial scratch and benchmark reprogramming and refunction elements of “village house”, roof, space, skin, ornament, and grid column.
